Mrs. Donna Swallow
5th – 6th Grade Teacher
I was born in Evansville, IN, on November 28, 1952. I am the 4th of six children. I have lived in Indiana, Kentucky, and Colorado during my (almost) 68 years.
I attended Harrison High School and the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, and Denver Baptist Bible College in Denver, CO. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Missions from DBBC, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from USI. In addition, I did my post graduate work at USI, ISU, U of E, and Indiana Wesleyan College.
I have served as both a full-time and part-time teacher, teacher’s aide, substitute teacher, short-term teacher ( for pregnancies and medical leaves), and as class volunteer for my four children’s classes. I have also tutored and taught children and/or adult women in my church through classes, VBS, and Bible studies. Most importantly by far, is my experience as mother to my 4 children, and grandmother to my 13 grandchildren. I have taught every grade from K-12. Basically, I have worked with children for 50 years of my life.
Even though I retired in 2018, I missed the kids and started am teaching 5th – 6th grade at Newburgh Christian Academy this year.
